“An asana, or yoga pose, is a container for an experience. An asana is not an exercise for strengthening or stretching a particular muscle or muscle group, although it might have that effect. It is a form that we inhabit for a moment, a shape that we move into and out of, a place where we might choose to pause in the continuously flowing movement of life.”

Mindfulness and Yoga for children
I began teaching yoga to children in London in 2021 and whilst living in Jersey I was invited to share Yoga & Mindfulness at the wonderful Earth Kids Camp with children between the ages of 7 through to 13 and continue to do so. I now teach Year 1 children in a primary school in Lucca and aim to create more of these classes. The content varies according to the age groups but through these practices, my aim is for the children to have fun, to laugh and feel that they can be themselves, to remind them of how unique and special they are, to encourage & teach them how to find inner peace & stillness, and most importantly how to find their centre and feel strong and grounded no matter the external circumstances.
If you’d like to discuss bringing a children’s group class to your school or home education group contact me.
“Just as no one else has your dental pattern, no one else has your bone structure, your spine or your hips. Why think, then, that what someone else can do, you should be able to do, too? Or why think that because someone else can’t do something, you also will fail? There are things you can do right now, there are things that you will be able to do in time, and there are things that you will never be able to do. This is not a critique of your abilities or a reflection of your personality or some flaw that needs to be fixed—this is simply the reality of your existence. A snowflake, in all its beautiful uniqueness, will never be a galaxy of stars. Why would it ever try to be something it cannot be? Better to be a great snowflake. We need to understand our uniqueness and our natural limitations.”
